Adobe Photoshop

Adobe Photoshop is a web designing software used for giving effects and filters to an image to make it more appealing and attractive. Brought out by Adobe Systems Incorporated, this software is often used in multimedia and web designing.

Why do we use Adobe Photoshop?

Adobe Photoshop is mainly used for inserting special effects, filters and layer effects (layer style). Changing the color, brightness and contrast of the image accompanied by transform and feather commands help in giving the image a different look depending upon the taste of the user.

How to open Photoshop?To open Photoshop follow up as below process:-

• Click on start menu.
• Click on run and type "Photoshop
  or Click on program.
• Click on "Adobe Photoshop

When The Photoshop is opened you can view the following window with the different menus, toolbars and objects.

Working  within Photoshop environment:-

For this purpoes:-

• Go to File Menu.
• Click on New or Press Ctrl + N Then you can view the following Dialog Box:-

Name:-

what ever you write here name it will remain the name of the document.

Image sizes:-

To create the image sizes you can give the preset sizes like custom,letter or given but the

Standard image size is  640 X 480 pixels.

Resolution-72 pixels/inch (used for picture's quality)

Mode:-We use different mode for the colors.

Gray, cmyk etc , RGB, but we use RGB for color full.

Contents-

Transparent :-

 For JPG files- any option can be selected.

Back color:-

It is used for creating back color for the document. But you should define the color from tools palate already for color.

To set the background color full you need to set the back color previously from the tool palate's  background color.

White:-

Used for creating back color white in document.

How to open outer pictures in Photoshop ?

• Go to File Menu
• Click on Open Menu (Ctrl+O)
• Browse the Picture.
• Click on Open

Tools Palette

The tool palette appears on the left side of the screen and include the tools that are used to type, select, paint, draw, edit, move, and view images, change foreground/background colors and work in different modes.

Description and use  of the tools

Marquee (M): – The marquee tool selects areas within a layer. It is capable of selecting rectangular, an elliptical, square, single column, and single rows.

Rectangular Marquee Tool(M):- Used to select the picture in the Rectangular shape.

• Elliptical marquee Tool (M):-
  Used to select the picture in the elliptical shape.
• Single row marquee tool (M):-
  Used to select the picture in the single horizontal line.
• Single column marquee tool (M):-
  Used to select the picture in the vertical  line. 

Move (V):- Moves selections, layers, and guides to start the new tools.

Lasso Tool (L):- The lasso tool can select areas within in a layer that can’t be reached with the marquee tool.

Magic wand (W):- 

The magic wand is an automatic selection tool. It selects large range of color at once.

How to bring outer picture in the document ?

• Select the picture using selection tools.
• Click on move tool(v).
• Drag the picture and drop on your document.

Inverse (CTRL+SHIFT+I):-

When  you select the large part of the picture  using the selection tool which has the similar color range specially using magic wand, to select  the opposite part of the picture we can use the inverse.

• Go to Select Menu.
• Click on Inverse.

Deselect (Ctrl+D):-

To remove the selection part.

Reselect (CTRL+shift+D):-

To reselect the deselected part.

Undo:-

Ctrl+Z

Step Forward

Ctrl+Shift+Z

Step Backward

Ctrl+Z

Select All

Ctrl+A

Feather

Feather makes  the pictures' edges soft so that   the outer picture is matched with  the background and seems the naturality in the picture.

Way of creating feathers:-

• Click on any selection tool like Marquee, Lasso, Magic wand or any.
• Give the value more than zero in Tool bar in Feather.
• Select the picture as you like then move the picture on the document. Or After using the selection tool press ctrl+alt+D or use feather from select menu and give the value.

Layer:-

Layers are picture's remaining location each others above and down  of the pictures. We can work separately in the layer that while working in one layer the other layer is not affected.

Properly working with the layer is proper mixing of picture. So that there is the great role of layer in Photoshop when we insert the different picture in the canvas ,the new layer is created. so that we have to select the particular layer.

Creating a New Layer

• Go to Layer Menu
• Click on New Layer (Ctrl+Shift+N) OR Click on New Layer Icon in the Layer Window.
